As of Jan. 31, 2016, the Philippines Department of Energy (DOE) had awarded 137 service contracts for PV projects totaling 4,018.4MW. Of this capacity, 4,016.1 MW is represented by 98 grid-connected PV projects. The remaining 2.29 MW is for off-grid projects. In addition to these projects, the DOE is currently examining another 59 PV project proposals totaling 1,455.5 MW.
As of the end of January, the Philippines had 144.4 MW of installed grid-connected PV capacity, the same amount it had at the end of December 2015. In 2015, the Philippines added new PV systems with a combined capacity of approximately 120 MW.
