Energía Aljaval presents its strategic plan 2024-2026

Energía Aljaval’s board of directors has launched its strategic plan for the next two years, in which it hopes to strengthen its position in the Spanish market through the development of new projects focused on BESS, hybridization and green hydrogen. Likewise, and after recent years with a central focus on the Spanish market, the company hopes to relaunch its activities in Mexico starting in the second half of 2024, where it developed more than 1 GW of solar projects between 2013 and 2018 currently in operation .

Energía Aljaval owns a portfolio of renewable projects in development of more than 500 MW in Spain, distributed among projects with connection, projects in development for capacity auctions and green hydrogen projects. The company is focusing efforts on diversifying the energy mix, adding projects with different technologies such as wind, BESS or hydrogen to the already extensive portfolio of photovoltaic projects. In addition, since the end of 2023 the company is working with different partners on the hybridization of existing renewable plants.

On the other hand, the company expects to relaunch its activities in Mexico, where the sector has slowed down in recent years with little progress in the renewable energy sector. However, the growing need for the decarbonization of the country’s energy mix makes the Mexican market a very interesting one, with room for growth not only for solar energy but also for technologies such as BESS or green hydrogen. Energía Aljaval maintains a development portfolio of more than 2 GW – part of it already committed to third-party sponsors and part of it for own development – and is already working to expand it with new greenfield projects, trusting in the reactivation of the sector and with a view to positioning itself at medium and long term in one of the company’s main markets.
